"Quetzali is not only a Daycare, it is a home that nurtures, comforts, and supports children through the most critical time in a child's life, just like their own home."
Studies show that children exposed to languages and cultures other than their own, have a greater sense of the global community and will be more respectful to different diversities. Inherently, dual language speakers do better in language arts, science, crafts, math, and social settings.
Our immersion program creates a positive, safe, fun, and nurturing environment for successful learning, with the commitment to build the confidence to communicate and understand Spanish.
The national known Creative Curriculum® uses exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills. It focuses on meeting the needs of individual children, while honoring and respecting the role that teachers have in making learning engaging for every child.
Children learn through play, and our goal is to provide many kinds of play experiences. During a typical day, children participate in a variety of activities: self‐directed play, drama, reading, music, art, and outdoor time. We also offer special activities such as field trips, music lessons, yoga and cooking classes.
Mixed-aged grouping develops a child's social and personal development. Younger children learn from the experiences, knowledge and abilities of older peers. While the slightly bigger friends, naturally take leadership roles to help their younger friends. This increases their independence and self-confidence.
Quetzali aims to meet the academic, social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of children 12 weeks to 12 years of age.
Summer is only a couple months out of a year hence, Quetzali takes full advantage of the warm days by having a summer camp that encourages learning opportunities.
Each week is consisted of a different theme where children are exposed to various activities and educational field trips. Our themes include sports, science, art, yoga, safety, swimming, architecture and much more! By having flip-flops, sunscreen and a water bottle the summer season is filled with endless curiosity and happiness.
Quetzali offers organic, freshly prepared sit-down meals and snacks served family style to promote healthy and adventurous eating.
During the Spring and Summer kids learn how to grow their own vegetables in our organic garden! Our nutritious approach teaches children about cooking, gardening, composting, baking, and eating consciously.
